2013 Victorian MTBO Championships - entries close soon
Thursday, 11 April 2013
The Victorian Sprint, Middle and Long distance MTBO Championships will be held on the weekend of 27/28 April at Castlemaine and Whroo. The Champs are also the first round of the Australian National MTBO Series and are selection races for the Australian team for this year's World MTBO Championships. We start with the Sprint at Clinker Hill in Castlemaine with a fast and furious course through a range of bush tracks and urban fringe area starting from the secondary school.
The Middle distance race is on an excellent new map covering an area well used for MTB races, but with lots of tracks and junctions. The course setter advises that new tracks are being put in almost daily, so it is sure to be a great test of middle distance skills. The Long is at Whroo, an area not used for many years, and sure to be a great riding experience in classic terrain.
Booking accommodation in the Castlemaine area is recommended as there is a presentation dinner at the Cumberland Hotel in Castlemaine on Saturday night. You can book your place for the dinner while entering the Middle race.
Full event info including course distances, climbs, directions etc., plus online entry can be found for each race at these links.
Sprint Championship Middle Championship Long Championship
NOTE: Late fees apply from this Sunday (14th), so if you haven't entered yet, get your entry in over the next few days. Final closing is Sunday 21st.
