Included in these risks are injury due to rough terrain and obstacles and the effects of heat, cold and exhaustion. I/we are also aware there is no personal accident insurance on my participation in the sport and that I/we take part at my/our own risk.\n\n \n \n \n \nCourse Setter: \nShane Jenkins\n\n \n Format:\n75 minute score course\n\n \nStart Times: \n8:00am – 9:00am \n\n \nDirections: \nTurn off Wakefield Road onto Archery Road.  Follow "O-signs" to the start.\n\n Event Description:\nCompetitors will receive their map 3 minutes before their start time.\n\n \nControls will be worth either 1, 2 or 3 points as indicated by the first digit in the control code (eg Control 3A would be worth 3 points).\n\n \nLate Penalties:  minus 1 point for every minute or part thereof late, down to a score of 0.\n\n \nEarly Bonuses:  if all controls have been visited then plus 1 point for every full minute early.\n\n Scores for each event will be calculated as a percentage of the winners score.\n\n Series:\nThe series will consist of six (6) events. A competitor’s best four results from these events will be tallied to produce an overall series total. (Course setters will receive an average of their best three results for the event they set.)\n\n Cost:\n$5 for members of Newcastle Orienteering Club (or any other orienteering club)\n$8 for non-members\n\n Entries on the day will be available but premarked maps cannot be guaranteed. Cost $10.
